This is such a cool, historic building! My husband and I stayed here because it's relatively close to Glacier National Park (especially if you plan on visiting Two Medicine!). All of the staff were incredibly friendly, and the views were lovely. The food at the lounge was also tasty, as were the drinks. One thing to keep in mind before this next little bit: this building is OLD - over 100 years old! Which is part of the reason why it's so cool in my opinion. Now, that being said, the rooms are basic - bed, desk, a few chairs, tiny shower, toilet, and a fan (no TV, no AC). This was fine for us considering we just needed a place to rest our heads in the evening. However, the bed was so uncomfortable :( If you prefer a really firm mattress, you may like it, but we needed a little more cushion. I wouldn't rule out staying here again, but I would definitely take it into consideration - a good night's sleep is important if you've been hiking all day! There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the room either, but this ended up being okay; I brought a collapsible mini cooler and filled it with ice each night (they do have an ice machine!) and it kept our snacks chilled. Even if you decide to not stay here, it is worth checking out - historic building, golf course, yummy food and drinks, etc.

First off the convenience of stepping off the train and being literally across the street from your hotel is WONDERFUL! The building is historical and beautiful. You shouldn't go to a hotel built in the early 1900s and expect rooms built in 2023! The Staff was remarkably friendly and helpful - I can't say enough about them!! They had great recommendations for every question we asked. From Kate in the dining room, to Graham driving the train shuttle and all the many whose names I didn't catch - they made the experience so much more enjoyable. It was wonderful to unplug and enjoy the time together.

There were 9 of us traveling together (3 families). End of July 2023. 1. Rooms at the resort. When we arrived, they gave me a room, and we went up to find that it was not cleaned. This was annoying, and they moved us to a different floor for a night. They intended to leave us separated from our family, but we asked to be moved and they did. This was annoying to not have our room ready near the family and have to pack and move our stuff again. The real issue is the family of 5 was supposed to have a double and a triple connected to each other (2 adults in one room and the 3 kids in the other). When we arrived, they didn’t have anything of the sort ready. They gave them random rooms that weren’t close to each other. The next day, they moved one room, but still never got the connected double and triple. This was a big hassle for their family. We’re asking for a fair rebate for the hassle of this, not having things ready that we needed, and not being clear about the rooms that would be available to this family. 2. Shuttle service. This was AWFUL. We knew that we had an open day on our first full day at the resort. Earlier in the year, my family member called a few times to talk with the hotel staff about how to catch a shuttle and what to expect with the shuttle. When we arrived, we even asked the front desk clerk about the shuttle system. Everything on the website and every conversation with staff on phone calls said that it was “first come, first served.” The midnight clerk was completely clueless about how the shuttle service worked. Even though we were delayed and not in until midnight, we got up at 7 am to try to catch the 8:15 am shuttle so we could get to a trailhead to beat the heat. The 8:15 am shuttle was already full with an Amtrak tour and we had to wait until 10:15 am. Had we known this the night before, we would have been able to sleep in. We were stuck then with 2 hours with 3 tired children, and a few tired adults. Returning shuttle service worked fine. 3. Pool. The google photos of the hotel show a pool. Many reviews about the resort talk about a pool. There is no pool. We reached out directly to the hotel management, who was uninterested in offering us any sort of recompense.

This historic hotel is an incredible thing of beauty nestled at Glacier National Park, guests pay a steep price to stay at this marvel! I’m generously giving it 3 stars for its architectural beauty not for the room. Our room had a filthy …

This is a historic hotel built in 1913. Both of the "value" room types we stayed in were very clean and comfortable, the lodge itself is warm and welcoming, staff are wonderful and other guests are cheery. There is a delicious farm to table restaurant and lounge on site. No laundry services are available, but there's a laundry 2 mins down the road. One of the nights we stayed, a beautiful pianist played in the lobby. We very much enjoyed our stay.
